In terms of things to see and do in Lisbon, one must-see attraction is the Cristo Rei. This is a statue that is similar to the famous Christ statue in Rio de Janeiro, and it is located on the opposite bank of the Tejo River

The statue is more than 100 metres tall and so is certainly very impressive.

There is also some great architecture, such as the Castelo de Sao Jorge (the Castle of Saint George).

This is located up one of Lisbon's seven hills and provides great views over the rest of the city, as well as a great experience in the castle itself.

Another must-see attraction during your stay is the Aqueduto das Aguas Livres, which is an historical aqueduct.

It was built in the 17th century and is a fantastic example of engineering. It incorporates the largest stone arch in the world and there is also a Water Museum there, which is well worth a visit.

Culture & History

Some areas of Lisbon still bear the influence of the Moors, who used to occupy it.

Stylish Sozopol at Night

For instance, the Alfama neighbourhood in the Old Town features lots of irregular streets, Moorish influenced construction and buildings very located close together.

This makes it a great place to look around on your stay and soak up some of the history that makes the city what it is.

Belem, which includes a tower and monastery, should also be visited, as should the many museums, art galleries, gardens and parks in the area. There is also great nightlife with lots of fantastic bars, restaurants and clubs.
